Curiosities : ‘Anvil’
Shall we call it an English freehand? With it’s flat top and bottom and concave body it’s almost an anti-freehand. However you want to classify the piece it’s the grain that’s the true winner here.
The Anvil. Italian plateaux, ebonite stem. Features cracking straight grain, flame grain and birdseye. There’s also a little plateaux surface at the heel.
